Adoption Area

In general, Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee rescues and adopts Boston Terriers and other short-nosed dogs in the southeastern quadrant of the United States: along the East Coast to as far northwest as Illinois and Indiana and to all points south, almost to the Gulf Coast.  Our soon-to-be-active Florida Division will be able to adopt conveniently to Florida residents.

Here are some guidelines:

1.  As a general rule, less distant adoption locations are preferred.

2.  That being said, all applications are given consideration, with the dog's best interests taking the most important place.  As an example: older, more mature Bostons are less likely to be returned by adopters caught unfamiliar with Bostons’ high energy, habits, and behavior, and the attention those traits require, so they may be adopted to families further away.

3.  If you are uncertain whether we can adopt to your area, or if you are well outside our area but believe you are an exceptionally good match, please contact us at the phone number or email on the posting before taking the time to complete the application.

4. If we don't feel we can properly address your needs, we are always happy to refer you to sister Boston Terrier Rescues closer to home.
