Continued....

We wanted to give you an update on Butterbean (now Sadie) and let you know she is living a wonderful life with us at our home in Brentwood, TN.  She LOVES car rides and will do a 360 degree jump in the air if we ask her if she wants to go for a ride in the car! She also loves playing chase in the backyard when she has a toy and thinks we are trying to get it from her.

A year later, we rescued a Pug (Sally) from a puppy mill in Dickson, TN and the two quickly became best friends. Sally had lived a horrible life and at two years old, had already given birth to two litters and lived her whole life in a small cage with three other dogs. We really felt that Sadie recognized Sally's trauma when we brought Sally home and they instantly bonded. They truly are 'sisters' now and they bring so much joy to our lives.  Sadie and Sally love running around in the huge backyard, chasing rabbits and laying in the grass on a sunny day.

Indy loves his Wubba and his Kong, and plays/chews only on them, not anything else!! What a good dog! He loves to sleep on the sofa or easy chair with us, burying his head under a blanket!!  He hates cold/rainy weather and it's certainly a chore to try to get him to "go out" during such weather! But we manage.

We had a dog therapist/trainer come to our house yesterday who "filled us in" on his sneaky ways--trying to establish himself as "alpha." Well, we have been "schooled" and Indy no longer has his secrets!

Indy has no problems with our cat Missy, sans his curiosity that tends to freak our cat out. But she merely runs and hides and everything is fine. She is doing just fine, and showing no signs of stress.

My eight year old is also doing fine with Indy. She loves him a lot and is always hugging and touching him, which he doesn't mind at all! He will even sit on command from her! She loves giving him treats. I am signing her and Indy up for obedience training in April. She will enjoy it, I'm quite sure!

This is Rilo Barker (used to be "Katie).  She lives in Senoia, GA with her momma and daddy.   Rilo is having some medical problems and we're worried about her.

Ruby girl is doing great. She and Jiggers actually played today and she held her own. For the last couple of days he would growl at her and she would give up her toys....but now she jumps on the couch and when he
tries to get her toys, she tugs him for them. She is a trip, cause I've noticed she is dangling her toys over the edge to get him to have interest in them. He can't figure out how to jump on the couch yet so she torments him.

But today was a breakthrough. I would throw the toys and they would chase them and would both grab an end and run it back to me. It was very cute to watch. She is going to be lost without him on Sunday. He gets on her nerves but she loves him. Sometimes they just lay there kissing each other. He loves her just like a kid loves his big sis. He is all puppy. Today he was chewing on a leg of a folding chair. And he loves sneakers...especially Kyle's cause the "skater shoes" have that hard flat sole. As long as he isn't gnawing on her anymore, it's all good.
She is very happy and loved here.

Heaven got a new angel yesterday.

Miss Suzanna Antoinette Bolding passed over the bridge at 5:17 AM, Thursday March 26th, 2009.

The day has been overcast, cold and spitting rain. After 12 years my precious baby, Susie, has gone to be with God, and walk in the gardens with Jesus.

God speed, my precious darlin' "Sweet Susie". Mommy misses you so terribly. Your babies (Chloe and Princess) along with Bailey and Baby Flower would neither eat or drink all day. Sadness surrounds us all.

Susie, you live on in my memory and in my heart forever.

Nancy

We have a couple new pics of Hannel's Annie pooch, doing a VERY typical Bostonian thingy, well, you know.......

Look at those little feet fly !!

We are very pleased to announce that Mr. Bongo Green (sharp dressed man) has been adopted and has moved to Cheraw, SC where he's doing very nicely, thankyou.  ;-)

Bongo came from Greenville's shelter, hence the last name "Green" but that could be changing soon.   We're hoping for some pics from his new momma Sue.   His foster mommas Angie and Taryn miss him dearly.

Today is my Toby’s 6th birthday. Five years ago today, I got him from a good Samaritan who had seen him on the busy streets of Memphis, taken him in, and placed an ad in the Memphis newspaper. It is hard to believe that the owner never claimed him because someone had trained him well, he was in good health, though not neutered, he had apparently not been abused in any way, he was very loving, and he was obviously accustomed to sleeping in a big bed with his human. Although I was not a member of any rescue group then, Toby was the one who led me to BT Yahoo groups and ultimately to more rescues.

He has been the best little dog anyone could ever want. If I had lost this boy, I would have gone to the ends of the earth to find him.

Shela - Toby's momma

We all know how it works.   Cold and rainy night, NObody needs to go out........   Let's just sit in front of the TV set and be very, very small.   Maybe nobody will notice.

Little Kashew,  a puppy mill refugee was adopted this weekend and she's a very happy little pooch.  She's already moved to Chattanooga to join the family as well as a wardrobe of Boston clothes already waiting for her there.

Keith (my brother) says this is going to be another very spoiled Bostonian.   We're hoping for more pictures.

Thanks to Aunt Chris and Aunt Priss, here's Louise from Roanoke, a very cute little old lady on the mend......  in her jammies

happy saint patty's day!

Everything is going so well with Cupcake, we couldn't be happier!  She is a great dog and is a delight to have in our family!   Yes, we learned about Cupcake's sleeping habits....

The first night she ran right up to the top of the covers, flipped them up with her nose and ran underneath! It was the cutest thing! She has a great personality which comes through in so many ways. Thank you all for making this happen...another happy ending!!

-Patty (Cupcake Little's momma)

We have some new pics of Katie and her brother Cody.

Here are some pictures from the Florida trip from their momma.

Katie was totally impressed by Egrets & would have
Liked to chase them!

Here's Porgy.   He's a nice little guy and he lives in the Nashville area.   Porgy misbehaves a little now and then and he's having to go to school to be a good dog.

(Tell me "no" with a face like that)

More about Porgy later and his doubtless improvement.....  his momma Michele is taking good care of Porgy

A couple new ones of Marrissa's Reba.  This little puglet has the snoozing thing down pat.

Apparently her internal clock is out of whack because she now wakes up at 3AM and tramples us, breathes in our faces, and stands on our pillows. When you finally wake up because she has made such a nuisance of herself you find her staring at you, wagging her tail, and panting as if she is ready to start the day. This all between the hours of 3 and 4AM each day. She also is not happy until everyone in the house is up because this trampsing around in the wee hours is followed up by some barking in case everyone was not aware Reba was in fact awake and ready to start her day. Of course she settles right down around 8AM when it is time for us silly humans to get up and start the day. At this time she is sleeping peacefully on the bed, sprawled out, legs behind her, and snoring.

Mike's Ringo guards the couch.  Somebody has to do it.

Here's Donna Clark's Mr. Stetson, doing his usual thingy...

He's Donna's little man.

Boston Farms gave the big wave to Mr. Pork chop Cole today. Poor fella came to us in distressed health from a shelter, had been in a home and was confiscated by local AC.

After getting a little comfortable he started to put on weight and enjoy life. He’s gonna be an only, and is due for a ton of attention. All in all a relatively short stay, before coming upon his good fortune. Parting indeed, is such sweet sorrow.

It’s sad to say that the bedding will hardly be washed and some poor (but perhaps lucky) waif will be begging to fill his crate.

Mr. Indiana Bones has been adopted and has moved to Virginia.   His new sister is 8 years old and they're going to be the best of buds.   We're hoping for pics soon.

Today, we lost Cass. She was a beautiful girl we had come in some months ago. Actually, it was about a year ago. Austin and Stephen fostered her and then adopted her. She was a big girl. I mean a BIG GIRL! A larger Boston in most ways and a heavy dog, she got bigger and bigger. But there was a reason for her weight gain. Cass (named after Mama Cass Elliot), had seizures. They were hard to control and eventually, she went from Phenobarbital to Phenobarbital and Potassium Bromide. So she gained weight!

In the last couple of months, she had been having clustered seizures where she would have to have a doctor give her an IV of Valium. That is intense and harsh stuff. Today, she didn't make it. Her body had had too much and her time came.

Cass loved people, she loved other dogs, she enjoyed rolling in the grass, warmed up by the sun, treats and food were just fine by her. Cass was loved by many. I loved her.
She is in the company of so many good dogs. I miss them all. We will all be together again, one day, but until then, it is hard to loose so many dogs.

In rescue, we are able to give new lives to a lot of dogs, but I wish we could give all of them more life. But this much I do know, Miss Cass had the best life and the most love by having the time she had with Austin and Stephen. These are two good men!

Bunny our 40# Mix was H/W positive in sept 05, and in 06.   She was on the slow kill method, and tested H/W NEGATIVE today, and has probably been for some time.

Well, Cupcake Little has been adopted and has moved to Summerville, SC with her new family.  Everybody's doing fine and we're expecting some pictures of the happy family very soon.   The new family is learned quickly about Boston Terrier sleeping arrangments.  ;-)

Mr. Buzz, now called Sam Montgomery has been adopted and he's doing very well, thankyou.   More on Sam a little later.....

Some sad news.   Frodo managed to get away from his daddy and was hit by a car.   We all need to remember, Boston Terriers are very smart little kids but they know NOTHING about cars.

Fro is being fitted for angel wings and he will be greatly, greatly missed.  He's waiting for Henry at the Bridge.

Louie and his min pin brother Spike doing one of their favorite things. A couple of weeks ago they got a little sister min pin from the pound. She's only a year old and they all three get along great, she can really tire them out. My kids think that Louie needs a boston girl friend since Spike has a min pin girl friend now.   Ruthie, their momma.

miss margo lost her battle after having extreme jaw surgery , with 2 pins and wires put in.... the vet thinks there was probably a previous injury that weakened her mandible ...and a broken canine caused too much pressure on the jaw.... we tried so hard to get her over this painful time.... but our sweet girl gave up & went to the rainbow bridge where she can once more be the outgoing, happy , loving dog that she was....

her zest for life was infectious & will be terribly missed.... she touched the hearts of all she came into contact with.... she had 214 "virtual" candles lit for her in the last days....
emmi, devin & margo's brothers: bugs bunny & scout & i were so very blessed to have had even a short time with this sweet girl.... we gave her a family & she gave us her heart....
RIP miss margo..... 'nette

It's been a year since we got Sweetie so we decided her birthday is in March and we celebrated accordingly yesterday. It was not easy to get the dawgs to pose for the camera with their hats on. I think they thought they were in trouble. We served them "gourmet" hot dawgs and Sweetie took hers and got on the couch with it (you can see her running off with it in pic # 173). No more parties for awhile!!

Shela's Snow Dogs

They are, from L to R, Toby, Tyler, Trooper, Toby, Trooper. She posted them with captions after our one "big" snow of the year.

"I wish I lived with that cool lady Shela. The coat is bad enough but I look like a doggy crossing guard. This is why I chewed Marissa's snow boots today"

"The best part of the snow is coming inside and being a snuggle bug"

I just got a call that Katie’s picture has been selected to be on the May calendar for the Dog Fancy calendar.

It will be in the issue that comes out the end of March. I am so excited. I submitted it a long time ago and had forgotten about it.    Ardy.

Counting sheep?   Here's Marissa's Miss Reba Pug in low light.

We have some new pics of Mr. Louis Hamilton from Sharon, among other things, taking the dreaded bath....

This little man is all Boston even though he moves a bit awkward with his wheels. He still does all the things any Boston would and is the pack leader to dogs 2, 3 and 4 times his size. He is a love and has a heart of gold. His momma has a paralyzed beagle with wheels too as well as a few other dogs with challenges. No one is handicapped where he lives.

Mom encourages their independence but still can't resist spoiling them with new outfits and the latest in sun glasses - lol He and Emma the beagle who was shot 3 times in the spine got to acupuncture together and water therapy as well as a chiropractor! He truly is in God's hands!

God doesn't make junk and Louis Hamilton is living proof!
Sharon (Louis's "aunty")

Last Thursday was Abby’s fourth birthday; we celebrated it on Friday when Tex could join in the fun. The gang had their traditional pumpkin custard treats     -Frank

We have a new pic of Charlie Killian.   Charlie's a good old gal but she's had some problems lately.  She feels a little better some days.   Her brother Boo Boo is worried about her but he knows Charlie's momma Debbie will take the best of care of his little sister.

We have some new pictures of the General Jackson doing a little sight seeing and playing the big dog role.  Yes, that's Mr. Special's momma and Jackson wants his foster momma Tricia to know that he's doing JUST FINE.    ;-)

Miss Margo is feeling a little puny so her sisters are keeping her company and happy...

It's bugs bunny, scout & miss margo

Here's the latest crowd at Ron's house, Boston Farms.  It's left to right, "the Sunshine Club" enjoying a sunny day in Stone Mountain, the Sun Bun, Missie, Rosie and then Sidney at the bottom.

Thanks Ron.

Ready for this?

Here's an honorary Boston Terrier named Stormy.   His momma Doris raised him from a baby.

We have some new pictures of Jingle Joe Green now known as Kelley from the land of Clinton, TN.

Looks like Mr. Kelley has settled in very well into doing things "Boston"

From Joni....

Despite heavy rains on Friday night and Saturday morning, the only things raining on the 2009 Mystic Mutts of Revelry parade was the continuous shower of Mardi Gras beads/moon pies/stuffed animals, and doubloons being thrown to the large crowds (many with their dogs), by the human participants while the mutts (of all shapes/sizes, and questionable ancestry) walked, rode on floats, or were pushed in decorated baby strollers, wagons, and even a golf cart, past their adoring fans. No red carpet walk in Hollywood could rival the continuous flash of cameras and cell phone camera photos of the Mystic Mutts- many in their finest Mardi Gras costumes, grand enough for the cover of Vogue magazine.

The Euler boys rode on the Royal Court float as Dukes to the King and Queen.
Duke Rebel (aka King of Eulerland, since he is the king dog of the Euler household)
Harvey - Duke of Feinstein and Jesterland (Feinstein was his last name in rescue and since he acts like a clown, only proper he should be lord over Jesterland)
Magoo - Duke of Yellow Rubber Duckie Land (since he loves the water-whether it be a bath, the rain, or water hose-and besides I couldn't find any "BratBoy" beads).

Our parading Duke photos are posted on Snapfish - just click on the link below and enter the password: Rebelboy

Angie's little foster kid Indiana Bones now has his own video.

Take a look http://www.photoshow.net/viewshow/Vh4Qw2VG for the little star below and the rest of the cast of characters

Here's Meme's two kids, the ying yang twins.   Confidentially, looks like a couple CATS to me.

Here's Figaro and Charlie taking in a little sun.  Charlie's brother Boo Boo wouldn't be lying so quietly.   He'd be trying to take a little biter-roonie out of poor Figaro.   ;-(

Here's Pat and her momma on her birthday.  On the left is her beloved Raymond Parker.  Ray is watching over Pat now.  He's an Angel.

That's me under the blanket and the layer of Bostons and Yorkie babies.   Janet.

It's gotten a little sadder at the Shultz house.   Leonard lost Gigi recently but she's now with the rest of the crew helping Chris keep an eye on Leonard.

Otis Parker has no respect for the law

Meet Dallas, granddog of NancyB & Crew. Dallas belonged to NancyB's son-in-law Kevin who passed away last November from cancer at the age of 49.   Dallas has been grieving for Kevin and waiting for him to come back home ever since.

She waits for him in his favorite chair day and night, always watchful and eagerly looks when she hears a door open.

Eventually Dallas and Kevin will be together again.   We all know that.

Taryn has a new kid.   She's at least part Frenchie and the rest Bostonian.   She's also a little camera shy but isn't she PRETTY?   (And short)

From the Olds Family:

Well it is official that Batman and Robin hold the title of incredibly spoiled pets/kids. Not only do they both always sleep in bed with us at night and burrow under the covers to snuggle but Irene took them in this week for their shots and checkup and the two little piglets were weighed. Now I know that the weight range for Bostonians is somewhat large, but Batman weighs in at 19.5 lbs. and Robin (aka "The Brute") is 34.5 lbs! Lest you think that they are getting obese, there isn't an ounce of fat on their little over-muscled bodies! They look like little canine body builders. I just thought that you would appreciate how great these two have bonded and how they are thriving together! Stay well and keep up the great work....I and B

I am really enjoying my new parents. They took me to the vet yesterday.  The vet was a little concerned about my eyes, he is putting me on some different eye drops for 2 weeks, and then we are going to go back.   When we got home Dad opened the door for me to get out, but did not put the leash on. I sat in the car and would not get out until he did. I think Dad was really impressed.   I have been exploring the back yard quite a bit.   I stay away from the water, there are plenty of other things to take a look at.

I have been spending a lot of time chasing balls and other things with squeaky things inside.  I am getting along fine with Rossie (my new sister). She is not much interested in playing, but does not bother me.

We have been walking every day. Dad was gone last week, but mom took me.   The first week, Dad made me sleep in my crate, but when he went on the trip, Mom let me sleep on the couch in dads place.   ;-)

~

Preston's momma Lorrie says the first week with Preston has been a real joy. With each passing day, he
has become more and more comfortable in his new environment. He's just a
good dog with a great temperament.

Preston and Esther are getting along just great. Yesterday, they went on
their first walk together. I usually try to walk or exercise my dogs daily
unless the weather prohibits it.

Preston usually spends most of the day with Lorrie in the office
while she works and has taken to sleeping with her at night. Although he and
Esther get along well, she's noticed they seem to provide each other
with mutual respect for private time and space. It's been fun watching this
canine adjustment.

I had to get up and leave my computer for a bit and when I came back into the computer room this is what I found. The screen had been on the main menu page when I got up but somehow Pete was able to hit the right button. He was looking for his furever home. Jennifer, in Nebraska, has since found him a loving home. He carries a chunk of my heart with him.

Is it too soon to start celebrating Valentine's Day?  'Nette's kids don't think so......

Mercury and Brandi are best buds with their momma April    ;-)

Ah yes, to be in Florida this time of the year with Katie and buds.   It's COLD here.

Mr. Preston has been adopted and we'll have a few things to say as soon as Uncle Ron gets around to it.

In the blue dot sweater is our Sophie West, next is Gracie then Cassie Cupcake.   In front of Sophie is Sadie Phillips neighbor who stays with us often while her parents travel.   Lucky the Cat is usually in the pile too.

Mike and I spend a lot of time on the floor.   ;-)

Here's Miss Bessie, Marissa's new little girl.   It was close for Bessie.  Isn't she beautiful?

Hi there!!!  Shana, that's me.   These are my kids and this is Shana's Dog House.

Lisa's kid Ringo has a new sweater.   Ringo's not happy.   Ringo's mother is happy but Ringo is NOT happy.  Can you tell why Ringo is NOT HAPPY?

Kristi's kid Ivan is going to school.  Ivan is going to be a lawyer when he grows up.  All he needs now is a little stool to stand on.

Here's a pic of Lola Arnold, a very different little Bostonian.   Isn't SHE pretty?  A true little southern belle.

More of Charlie Killian and her buds.  She's feeling much better.

Well, Linda's kids Pee and Sid in Clarksville, TN have sent the Maryville kids a CARE package with all kinds of gummies in it and some coupons and a Petsmart gift card.  In fact, here ARE the two boys, showing how "synchronized napping" is performed, perfected to an art form.

A dog of small stature, Petey charged into any situation as if he was ten times his size. Of course he was right; he was far grander than his size revealed. And so goodbye to the beer swiping, rip roaring, hell raising little bastard who demanded nothing short of his rightful seat at the table.

Petey will forever be missed.  TC and Lucy Goosey, one of Roxie's pups, will miss Petey but he's watching over the family now.

We're VERY happy to announce that Miss Sissy Jane has been adopted and moved in with her new brothers, Kosmo and Harley, both Bostonians.   We're told that Sissy kept both of them up and running until 5am the next morning after adoption day and Kosmo's tongue is dragging.

Harley's next, he's neat, he's cool but she'll get him too.   Runnnnnnnnnnn Harley and Kosmo!!!!

;-)

We're saddened to pass along the passing of Daniel Leonardo Shultz this afternoon after a long bout with cancer.   Daniel contributed generously to the East Tennessee's website as

Mr. Daniel's

Helpful Information for

Senior Dogs, Blind and Deaf Dog Support

 and his own

 Seniors for Seniors Adoption Program

Leonard knows that Daniel is once again following Chris around, step for step with Buck and the other kids.

We have some new pics of Angie's kids including the catmeister, Mr. Bongo Green.   Below are Vinnie, Hans, and Bongo!

This is the beautiful blanket Melisha bought for Nicky. She was glad to share it with Charlie today. This is an old jacket that Miss Bea had too.  Charlie looks sad today but her brother Boo Boo says getting a little bite out of somebody not looking always makes him feel much better.   ;-)

Annie's momma is a professional photographer and she's a lot better at this than I am.   She sent a couple pictures of her child, Annie.  They're in Arlington, VA and if you'd like some really nice pictures of your kid (or anything else), check her out at

This is a sad and true story and it's about fences, real fences and what can happen.   Please read it and think hard.   It could be your Boston.

Why I like fences

Here are Sophie, Vinnie & Hans, Angie's kids in the Hendersonville, NC area.   They have a little foster roommate and his name is Bongo Green.   Bongo Green is a hoot and likes to open crates and let everybody else out to run amok.    Bongo is a little turkey, not like these good kids.   ;-)

Here's Lilly Moody Parker and just look at her!   She's so much better and happy.   The vets said she had congenital megaesophagus and of course you know the "recommendation" they always have for something they can't fix or can't figure out.   :-(

Now she's doing VERY well at the St Francis Animal Sanctuary in Vermilion Ohio run by Deb Parker.

If you EVER want to help a truly great organization, help them.

Little Angel Marie now known as Baby Angel has been adopted and is in her new family in Knoxville with her little brother and parents Wil and Betty.   She's a sweet little gal and we're hoping for pictures of everybody very soon and maybe even an update.

Atticus who just turned 7 years old on Dec. 23rd passed away very suddenly on Dec. 24th. Atticus was a rescue that I adopted when he was two years old, shortly after, I discovered he had severe epilepsy. Over the years we dealt with many illnesses and surgeries but he always recovered and always remained sweet and charmed everyone he met.

His brother Sully and I will feel his loss for a very long time.   ~ His momma, Heather

A picture from die Nordland, far, far away in New England.   Little Miss Boots shows off a little in the snow, walking in the countryside.

Just like something out of a spy novel, a Boston Terrier being "observed" by a very low light level device, doing with Boston Terriers often do when the light is low and the covers are warm.   Marissa's kid Mikey sawing a few small logs.
