(continued from page 5)
Evelyn's kids, from long, long ago in Alabama

We're saddened to learn of the passing of Sophie Stracaluzi, Marissa's old gal and driving companion.
Sophie passed away around 2:30....they believe she had cancer and that is why it was so tough for her to gain weight. Her tongue showed signs it was beginning to spread and she had an ulcer in the back of her mouth. When she came to me she was 13 pounds and today she weighed 9. She was so spry and healthy last week.....it literally happened so suddenly. She was very ready to go.
I lost my 13 year old Pit Bull Qutto (on the right) today as well. It's been a sad day.
~Marissa

My goodness, who might this BIKER be on a very nice looking Honda Goldwing with two little riders? Could it be Mr. Finger and some of his crowd? Looks like CB needs a couple little "buddie seats."

Here's little Mister Varga and his new buddy, a plump little boxer, both of whom are trying out the new doggie bed over in Knoxville. Bostons are well known for this kind of nesting but the real deal takes place in the middle of the human bed.
Pointing North or South, occasionally a little pungent poot. ;-(

Well, well, well. It's dinnertime at Kurt's house and everybody's interested including the small horse at the right. Three Bostons and a Dane (actually), everybody's watching in case something drops.
We all know the feeling. ;-)

Well, Jingles Joe didn't stay long in South Carolina, snatched up by the Porter folks in Clinton, TN and whisked home. Seems, according to his new papa that he's doing just fine although he misses his foster mom Taryn and little sister back in Greenville.
He's got relatives though back in Greenville and we have a feeling he'll be visiting from time to time.

More good news from Boston Farms!
Simon one of the newest orphans who hailed from
A ridin with him all that way to south GA, was a “mixed” blessing, and don’t ya’al know a coming home was harder. A for ya know though; they’ll be a helping another!

Hey Ron,
Thought you might like to know how Suki is getting along. She has settled into our family just fine and we are so please how smart she is and tickled to death that she is house broke. She is a bundle of energy, as I'm sure you know! I'm sending you some pictures of her.
Hope your family had a nice Christmas.

We have some new pics of Mr. Connor, seems like he's settling in very nicely. Ron had no doubt, he's a very proper little gentleman.
He even has a little girlfriend, a NEW HARNESS and Frosty the Snowman although as with all Bostons, Frosty's days may be numbered. ;-)

The Boston Tea Room in Maryville is saddened this morning at the loss of Maxx Smart last evening. Maxx was rescued by CB and Linda last fall in the Asheville area, dumped at a local shelter.
He'd apparently been struck in the throat and had resultant medical problems that we not going to get better, ever, and became one of the permanent members of the Raibley pack, the Tea Room Crowd.
Maxx is one of those gentle little giants, never a bark, never a growl. He's helping to watch over the others now. :'(
I take great comfort in knowing that these spirits never die and each has become a part of this household, intermingling with the souls here. Maxx is no longer a visitor, rather now he's part of the growing and very impressive staff. He, like some many others were adopted into my family long ago.
joe

Jill Harp will be 8 in Feb. and has been on meds for chronic bladder infections since she was 1 1/2 years old but she's alive and doing well. We could all take a lesson.

Mr. Connor of Stone Mountain has been happily adopted. More to come from his happy foster daddy.

Our unique and gentle Angelo was diagnosed with severe congestive heart failure on Aug. 2, 2008. He welcomed every foster into his home.
There will never be another Angelo and he'll live in our hearts forever.

Angelo Harp
Sept. 1, 2000-Aug. 7, 2008
Mr. Quincy Adams was adopted over Christmas week and he's now with his new momma Michelle in Glen Allen, VA where he's going to join her in the insurance business. Here's a hint: There's a DUCK involved in all of this.
Aflacccccccccc!!

Mr. Jake Russell has been adopted and moved to the Atomic City, Oak Ridge TN where he's thinking seriously about becoming a college professor, something he's always wanted to try. His new momma and daddy are both professors. Jake is a special little guy, missed badly by his foster momma Marie who taught him to talk.
He'll be fine Marie.

Mrs. Beasley "Bea" Harp was diagnosed with cancer in Aug. 2008 and crossed over on Dec. 9, 2008.
If love could have saved her she would still be with us. Cancer didn't win. It died with her. I will miss her always...Wyndi
Christmas played out early in
It was the weekend afore Christmas; and in all the house
folks was a celebratin from all
around. When dad got to opening his presents, seems he got dog dishes and such.
Was that a clue? Then in a comes Suki ; just a boundin and jumpin, She done run
through the crowd and guess what: straight into Dad’s arms!
We was rally proud and pleased to hear that and after only five minutes dear Suki acted like she’d been in the family for years!

On December 17th at 6:20PM Muscles passed away.
Muscles was a beautiful Boston Terrier whose family had turned him into animal control in Florida for being
protective of his elderly owner. It seemed no one wanted Muscles because he was deemed "aggressive".
Something about his photo made me fall in love instantly and I knew that I wanted to take Muscles into my rescue.
Over the next month Muscles showed he was just a lovebug. He was NOT aggressive by any means and he started.
finally, to learn the joys in life.
We learned Muscles had suffered a severe blow to the head along with a broken jaw that healed incorrectly.
Muscles never knew a kind day until Emily. his foster mom. He died in
her arms.
Muscles is now enjoying whatever happens to all living beings after death...... All the cigarette burn marks, scars, and pain to his body have faded away. All the unkind tones, harsh words, and days of being banished to a crate are long gone. I think he is having a good time, running, playing without a care in the world
- and watching over Emily. I also think Joe put it best when he told me he has no clue what dogs
really are but they are little spirits who only touch those worthy. I am glad Muscles felt Emily and I were worthy enough.
I have attached a good photo of Muscles and I will never ever forget him. Emily has his ashes and will keep them in her home - the only real home Muscles ever knew. Thank you all for reading Muscles story.....just knowing that people read this and know who is certainly is a comfort.

President, Help Save One, Inc
Mr. Bailey Baker asserts himself in his new home.

Well, little Cassie Cupcake has been adopted by her foster momma and is now officially part of the West family over in Gatlinburg, TN. It was sorta like an early Christmas present for everybody.
She's sooooooooo pretty in pink.

We have new pics of Batman and his trusted bud Robin from the Olds family. These two are a case and they are best buds. You wouldn't believe that Robin is the "puppy" of the two. ;-)
Nancy's kids Jealous Ellis and Memphis (on the right) are pictured below, hailing from Kingsport, TN. Sadly, we have to report that Memphis passed away in September but he's still flitting around the groom shop, still talking to Nancy. Ellis is keeping Nancy's mother out of trouble and he probably gets a little "spiritual" advice from Mr. Memphis as well.

Well, we have some new pictures of part of the Finger tribe over in Canton. Maybe we'll post up a little something of CB on the new motorcycle too. Got to get permission for that. ;-)
Meanwhile, back to the spoiled rotten crew......

Here's a pretty like girl. Her name is Millicent Seitz and her momma's introducing Millicent to the world of pugging. ;-)

“Well lo and be holdin!” Don’t ya’s just know that
Bandit the
Bandit was a notorious licker but a lion hearted beast just
the same; he just didn’t know his own size. Seems he lost an eye and part of
his lip in fight that scared a junkyard dog half to death, so much so hear tell;
that ol pittie bull done gave up his post in that old 49 Chevy and isn’t never
been seen since.
Bandits favorite secret weapon though is a secret
methane supply that can be released without notice to any unwary avengers.
(Sometimes he mistakes others for avengers)
Getting past that; there’s a nice lil gal named Lucy who wants to be his friend, and is quite enamored by the fact that his one eye allows total focus on her female beauty. Stand by for more up to the minute, and also many not so timely news breaks, here at the Giddy News Bureau.

One happy
Bailey will be enjoying the company of some boys as eager
to play as he, freedom with a secure fenced in back yard, and we’re told; the
choice of many beds to sleep in.
The car ride home gave him plenty of time for
introductions, and as an added a surprise. When he arrived home, a totally
surprised little boy; who had no idea Bailey was about to be bounding in the
door!
Don’t ya just guess there were 2 little dudes so tired that nite; that they feel asleep before they could even plan tomorrow’s mischief?

"We are sad to announce that we lost our foster "Sweet Boy" today. Even though we had him less than 2 weeks, we loved him and saw him for the wonderful, dignified, and sweet spirit that he was.
He was about 10 years old and was sick when we took him into Rescue but we were hopeful we could help. He was just too sick. We have no pictures, just the memory of this lovable old soul.
Rest in peace, dear boy."
CB and Linda Finger
How's about some new pics of little Miss Candy Corn now Candy, our guess a little hound dog Boston mix by the way she howls sometimes and always has a long face. She's raising this little girl of course and doing a fine job of it. Candy lost her sister Ginger last summer and she's still sad about it.
Between us, Candy needs a brother like Eddie the Beagle if she really wants to learn about this Howling thing. ;-)
Here's a pic of Linda's little man, Mr. Poe of Clarksville, TN
Poe says "Veni, vidi, volo in domum redire" meaning "I came, I saw, I wanna go home."
Trust me little man Poe, many of us know what you mean.

This is my precious girl Mimi. We have an Angel girl and the newest addition Piper.
Cyndi

New shots of Cody and Katie. Guess who DOESN'T like the cold weather up north?

Sunnie (Sunshine Sally) is doing very well. She is sweet kid. She has been on her first camping trip and went with us to visit the in-laws for Thanksgiving.
We are still working on the house training. We've discover that she loves reading, especially romance novels. Unfortunately, she turns the pages with her teeth, shredding the books by the time she gets the the end of the story! She seems very healthy and happy and we love her very much. Thank you for helping us find her! I've attached a few pictures for you of her camping trip.
Ginny

Well, here's a new pic of Charlie, Boo Boo's sister. She's very special and Debbie's little girl.

Sophie is safe. She is AMAZING - she does not act 15.
She sleeps a lot but she is very curious and walks all around. She is friendly with the other dogs and wants to be near people. She loves to cuddle and if you pick her up she falls asleep in your arms. She has not given kisses yet but I will win her over. Even Bugs, our cranky nine year old Boston lets her share the couch which she usually polices 24/7. They are currently curled up sleeping. Sophie likes Reba the pug
a lot and it is something else to see a 15 year old Boston, a cranky 9 year old Boston, and a blind pug all walking around.
Interestingly enough, Sophie prefers my husband. She immediately followed him around and wanted his attention. I arrange her transport, pick her up, water her, feed her, hold her, brag about her, and she wants him -
she's a typical female Bostonian ;0)
She is here to stay - she has a lot of life left in her.

We're VERY pleased to announce that Cindy Lou has been adopted and is now being spoiled in Summerville, SC by her new parents, Bob and Wanda. Amy's still hooting a little about Cindy's adoption and Mr. Sarge is missing her too, but she's a lucky little Boston Terrier and she's very much loved in her new home.

Here's a new pic of Mr. Rowdy Roscoe, one of Janet's lucky little kids. He's the one with the "feet up."

Ms. Courtney - so full of energy. Can run faster than well ...
anything I've seen!! Can jump straight up into my arms. She loves toys and has pulled the "guts" out of several at my house.
She sleeps totally under the covers ...
Loves to play with the cats; though sometimes they don't think it's funny! Courtney just wants to PLAY!
The newest member, Summer ... the poodle, will play some with Courtney! Courtney was VERY
"fraidy" of everything early on. I'm not real sure of her past but I do believe she was mistreated. She's coming along. We're working on her
social skills. I need to take her to Lowe's or some other places with
me and I haven't yet. She's very smart.
Courtney was dumped in the Kingsport TN area and rescued. Another rescue story for a little dog that didn't stand much of a chance.

Here's Mr. Muscles, snatched from the jaws of death from an uncaring family.......
All he was trying to do was protect his master, family and best friend. Marissa has the baby now.

Here's Chris' kid, Rodger Coulter

Rub a dub, Ringo Ross -

Tricia, Jackson had his four-legged sister, Blanche, with us for the last week or so, and they had a great time playing together with her/his stuffed toys. I baked some treats for them, and when I give him one, he's so gentle taking it out of my hand that I wouldn't think he even had teeth! Blanche is a little pistol, always looking to play or get in someone's face, and he's such the opposite. He likes nothing more than to curl up with us.
Thank you again for being such a great mother to him.
Janine

A short update on the girls.....................
They are both doing great! Scooter is almost 14 months old now. She still has A
LOT of puppy in her. Will she ever grown into those ears?? We have had no other medical "problems" other than the two bee stings and two roto rooter nose jobs.
Abby (L) is still the little lady...quiet, loving, and gentle, but stingy with the kisses....except when company comes. Scooter (R) is just the opposite ...can't sit still and will kiss you as long as you let her. The wife said she wanted a kissy lap pup...Scooter fulfilled that wish!
JT, Linda, Abby, & Scooter Marlin

This is Little Buddy, the weenie dog. Picked up with another kid, getting out of jail in MS but lost to parvo Nov 20th. There's no excuse for something like this to happen.
Thanks Janet for trying for Little Buddy

We have some new pics of Scooter and Sierra doing the "hose thing" as only a Bostonian can do. Most Bostons, as you know, dislike getting wet intensely, UNLESS it's something like standing in front of a fire hose.

We're very proud to announce that Miss Glori Bea has been adopted and has moved to Hixon, TN where she has now a little brother named Cozzi and three new sisters. Funny thing, it seems Glori pays a LOT more attention to her new sisters than to her new daddy.
We're hoping for pictures soon and SOOOOOO happy for Glori. She's such a good baby.

Aidan is a funny and sweet, chubby little Boston who had a hard time finding a home. He was found as a stray last spring and adopted out quickly to a nice family. They kept him for months, but they could not get Aidan to get along with their cats. They finally decided that they needed to surrender him back to the shelter. During his time with that family, they found out that he was deaf. That explained some of his sillier behavior! When he came back to the shelter, we found a home for him with a person who had another deaf Boston Terrier and had experience with training a deaf dog.
A lady with BT experience who actually has another deaf Boston. Her other one is trained to respond to hand signals.
Let's hope that this will be Aidan's forever home!
Amber - Franklin County TN Humane Society

Ringo Ross does his thing. No explanation required.

We have a new pic of Charlie Killian ;-) She was adopted from ET in July 2005. What an angel. We have her brother Boo Boo here now.

We lost Callie almost two weeks ago. Old man Buster Ellenburg took care of her until the very end and then he gave up too. They're buried side by side in the woods, next to the house.

This little guy's name is Charley "Little Leon" Radford. He was dumped or maybe lost in Radford, VA, taken in by some very kind people but Charley was very, very sick. He didn't make it but he was very well loved.
Charley is waiting at the bridge.

Mr. Frodo cleaned out his room at Boston Farms on Sunday Nov 2. One sure ‘nough lucky fella, as an owner had attempted to put him up for (owner) surrender at a GA county Shelter. Luckily the intake person realized his fate would have been death that day! A deputy Sherriff who understands rescue intervened. Boom! Next day he was a sleeping in our bunkhouse.
And we couldn’t be happier!

Sunshine Sally or "Sunny" to her close buds has been adopted and has moved to Woodstock, GA where we have other adopted Bostonians. Sunny is just an 8 month old puppy, so she's got a lot of learning ahead of her but she's a sweet little kid and likes to wrap herself around your neck.
She'll be camping on some of the nice weekends and we're hoping for pics
We just didn't have time to get pics while she was here but she's a very pretty little kid.
~
“Everyoncened”- in –a-while, god things do happen.
Bella as ya might a be remembering was living with an Air Force SGT, that had
orders to return to the

There have been a few more changes at Boston Farms lately;
“Scarlett the Beautiful” left a couple weeks ago, we’re a tad bit late a getting that news out.
Funny thing ya know bout that pretty lady; she was deaf and
we never picked up on it. Amazing ability to understand what was going on by
watching the gang!
Word has it her new folks are a lookin fur a mate for Scarlett now, to give her a hearing aid dog.

Everybody remembers Harryman The Legend. Here's a new pic.....

The pics are a little fuzzy, but here's new pics of Rowdy and Miss Sweetie doing a Boston thing with a squeaky toy. Everybody knows how that works.

We're very saddened to announce the loss of Calipso Callie Russell, a very sweet little girl, very old and very frail.
Old man Buster Ellenburg, even older than Callie, took care of her until the very end. He's doing poorly now too. There is no doubt that Callie's momma was waiting for her at the bridge and it was indeed a grand reunion. Callie is watching over old man Jake Russell now.

And a new picture of the always lovely and VERY fetching, Miss Sophie Gene (aka Sopho)

Some new pics of Marissa's little family........

Here're some pics of Katie and Cody for Halloween ;-)

We have new pictures of Mr. Gus Boe, all dressed up for Halloween

Mr. Jackson continues to play the opportunist. Some got it, some don't. He do. :-/

Well, it's Harriett (how CAN such a little dog have such a big name?) and her daddy doing a little football

Daddy does the watching, Harriett does the napping ;-)
Calipso "Callie" has been adopted right here at the Boston Tea Room in Maryville where she's bunking up with old Mr. Buster Ellenburg. Callie is getting pretty frail although she's a tough little old bird at 7-8# so she's not going anywhere. :-)

We're very pleased to announce the adoption of Miss Coco Puff AND Mr. Ozzie by a very fine rescue lady in Jefferson City, TN. Coco is the little kid and Ozzie is a very smart old gentleman from the Roane County shetler. Sometimes he's a little too smart. ;-)
The baby is on the left. The sneaky old fart is on the right.

We have some new pics of little Molly. No explanation is required. ;-)

We're saddened to learn of the passing of little Suzie, Sonya's baby. Suzie had some epi problems like many Bostonians and nobody knows exactly what happened but it's sad in Dandridge. Suzie's looking after Sonya now, we all know that.

Here's a new pic of Vinnie (Mr. Knotts) Wilkins. He's a very special little turkey according to his momma Sue. We're figuring we'll see more of Vinnie. ;-)
We have a couple new pics of Miss Pixie Rose. Isn't she a sweet little bitty pooch? She's doing soooooooooo well now.
Well, they don't look like cats to me but I guess I could be fooled by the Cat Ears.

Well, some new pics of Mr. Mercury Loudon doing what's he's best known to be doing, e.g., napping, thinking about napping, just getting up from a nap, etc. His momma says he's doing fine.
We're greatly saddened at the news of the Owen family's loss of Reno Owen a fantastic little guy who will be greatly missed by the entire Boston family. We have known Reno since Mike's family took him in, a sorry little sick guy and watched him blossom joe
"You will be missed, Reno! Since coming into our lives as a rescue pooch, your energy, companionship and ever-presence (yes, even under the covers, or on my lap, or when I was trying to work in my office) was always appreciated. Your tough times are over, little one. See you on the other side of the bridge..." :`(
Mike

Margo and her sisters are taking advantage of the last little bit of grass, it's getting a bit cooler where they live......

Ringo has a new bed. That's the good news. A cat used to own it. That's the BAD news. Hide your little head Ringo. Momma won't tell anybody ;-)

Times are definitely trying and everybody needs to keep up with the news including Ardy's child Katie. Many of us are going to be glad this election is over no matter WHO wins. Seems like it's gone on forever........

CJ Ward has been adopted and has moved to the Kingsport area where he has a wonderful family and two cute sisters. We're expecting some new pictures anytime. His NEW name (according to his two sisters, is "Booger" :-0
We already have some new pics of Mr. Mercury and his little girl friend from his new momma.
Little Pixie Rose was adopted yesterday and after the expected hooting and squalling by foster momma Taryn, little sister Shayla, many sibs and new momma Tonesa, Pixie headed home to Niota, Tennessee. It's always hard to give them up.
The Boston family just gets bigger and bigger.

Mister Mercury Loudon has been adopted and he's moved to Anderson, SC where he's going to teach at Clemson University. His new girlfriend is the demur Brandi and Merc thinks she's very pretty although it's pretty hard to get him worked up about much of anything. Merc is a deep thinker and deep sleeper. We're expecting pictures.

Little Harriett has been adopted and has moved to Maryville with her new Daddy, Jerry. She's a sweet little thing and is presently dealing with the old patella problem which has been fixed by the good doctor Bill here in Maryville. Another month and it's going to be full speed ahead again.

Little Coco Puff has been adopted and she's moved to Jefferson City, TN along with Mr. Ozzie who's being fostered by Katherine too. Coco's a pretty laid back little kid and it's the old man Ozzie whose little beak pretty much runs constantly (anytime he's awake).
That's the little Coco on the left and the old man Ozzie on the right.

Miss Dolly Douglas has been adopted by her foster momma Marie and she's a very happy little girl, living in Maryville, TN. Dolly is sorta like the old lady of the crew and keeps the rest of them, large and small, in line.

Our little wild child, Phoebe Marie is said to be "settling down" a bit but still is more than a little distracted by the neighborhood squirrels. Here're a few pics of Phoebe and her sibs from her very, very happy new family. We're hoping for more pics but don't really expect the "squirrel thing" to change much. :-)

BTW, guess who's watching what in the 3rd pic?
Here are some recent pics from the Melissa Rowe family of her kids.
First is Desi, aka Zazu, Lucy's brother. Desi has an incredible personality. When excited he HAS to pick something up and run around with it.
Next is Charlie Brown. Charlie is however a super active and rambunctious little guy with lots of energy. He keeps the girls in line.
Next is Lucy, aka Junebug. She is so precious and still very, very close to her brother. She is definitely the alpha dog and she rules over the Pit Bull mix, Molly as well!
Furthest right is Molly Malone. Molly is a sweet little pit bull mix and she's pretty in pink.

Helen Gregory of Cookeville TN and her famous ANgel

Oh, I wanna help!
"OK Ringo, you can sit for a few minutes but when the mowing starts, you're back to the house again..."

Just found a great (and recent) pic of Titus from the Dog Day in the Park event in Nashville. Titus is doing his best Paul Stanley impression, although it looks more like Gene Simmons, after having a white star painted on his head (with dog friendly paint mind you). Titus also received his home again chip at the fair and is now electronically attached to his owner.
Titus is definitely the alpha in the household, but his big sis' Kanga certainly lets him know when he's being a little too dominant. He loves to snuggle on the couch at night, but his favorite pastime seems to be hanging out at his window seat barking at the neighbors as they pass by. The first couple of photos were some shots my husband took of Titus playing "you can't have the bone" with Kanga in the back lot. The others are some shots from last year, including our trip up to Roane Mountain with my Dad and my friend Denise. MAN has he grown since then. He's now up to 30+ lbs.

Sometimes no matter how hard you try, nor how many phone calls you just can't get it done. This is Frick and Frack from Gwinett County, GA, brother and sister. They are little Boston mixed and were dumped together by a loser as "owner surrenders" which is very bad for a dog in a full shelter. We just couldn't get to them fast enough to save them. :-(

We're very saddened to announce that Buddy Green Mayfield passed away this week, the apparent result of a long bout with cancer. This is a very special little guy but we all know he'll be waiting at the gate for his family and Boston sisters.

Here’s a few shots of the kids to bring you up-to-date on Sweetie’s progress. Two of them are pix of their favorite Sunday afternoon pastime (you can barely make out Sweetie in the shadows of the trees). The other two are from “game day”.
They have settled into a very happy companionship. Sweetie fusses of him all the time, cleaning his face, chin and eyes, with special attention to his “creases”. He tolerates it very patiently until he can no longer take it. Then they usually end up “rassling” around in the floor for a while, finally settling down together for a nap. They have really grown dependent on each other.

Thanks to 'Nette, here's all three of the furkids

Here's where the kids work Portraits by 'Nette
Check out the kid's website and the DOG pictures ;-)
Some recent pics of Maggie (formerly Precious Anne) from the Waynesville, NC folks, Cammie, Billy (and Maggie, of course)
Here're some recent pictures of Maggie enjoying the springtime weather in Greensboro right before they moved. From some of her pictures, you'd never believe she wasn't a show dog! Now that it's getting cooler up here in the mountains, she is really enjoying sunbathing on the deck in the afternoons and snuggling under piles of blankets in the cool mornings and evenings!
Isn't she just beautiful? :-)

Well, the picture on the right tells it all about Phoebe Marie, a certifiable WILD CHILD whose new mommy is picking her up today. Phoebe is one of those kids whose always ready for a game of 'catch me if you can' (lef pic) or already ready to be a little lady (if there's a milk bone involved - right pic).
We're hoping for pictures soon. No squirrels please.

We're very proud to announce that Mr. Cliffy Green and Mr. Hanky "Panky" Blue were adopted together and have moved to Dallas, GA. Cliffy and Hanky Panky are the best of buds and love to play together so it's especially great and we're all delighted that they're staying together as BEST BUDS.
The two on the left are of Mr. Clifford Green, the two on the right, his associate, Mr. Hanky Panky Blue
